Purpose:
The purpose of this evolution unit was to learn about evolution and all the evidence and findings that have led up to all the facts we have today. All lot of the ideas of evolution were proved through multiple facts. We were taught evolution because it is good to see how Earth and life came to be and all the factors that caused it.

Reflection:
I learned so many cool things throughout this unit. It was really cool that we got to learn about evolution and express our own ideas. One thing I think I did well was keeping an open mind. When it comes to evolution it is hard for me to know how the scientists found all the information they did, but throughout this unit it has made more sense and I was really able to see both sides of evolution and creationism. Another thing I think I did well was understanding the transitional species. Especially the transformation from a reptile to a mammal. I was really able to see how when parts of the jaw became unneeded, that that pieces traveled to the ear to fit a new function. Two things I really like in this unit were the hands-on dissections and the "Inner animal" videos we got to watch. Both were very cool and interesting. One thing I did not like in this unit were the dissecting lab packets because they were confusing and did not help us with the dissections that much, the Youtube videos helped better. Overall this unit was super cool and fun the learn about evolution and the process and facts behind it.
Socratic Seminar:
The Socratic seminar about evolution and creationism that we had was an interesting experience. We were able to share our beliefs about how the world and the species living on it came to be, and how it evolved. Two things that I learned were more details about Noah's Ark and that stones and objects around the world show drawings of dinosaurs. I got to hear a lot of things about creationism that I never knew before. Another thing I learned was the story about the 7 stages of God creating Earth and things on it in 7 days. Two things that I wonder or wanted to say is, "what happened before Earth came to be?". Another thing I wish the class could have talked about in the circle if we had more time was the topic of all humans being related. It was very cool to get to listen to other people's ideas and opinions and I think the socratic seminar was a good, helpful experience.
